Voted one of the top 75 restaurants in London, Angler is a Michelin-starred fish-lover’s fantasy. The food is exceptionally presented and deliciously seasoned, making this one of the best meals we have ever had. The winter terrace offers beautiful views of the city year-round.

Angler is on the pricier end of the scale with a la Carte dishes ranging for £19.50 to £38.50. A three-course lunch menu is available for £35. A 10-course tasting menu is available for £85. Reservations are accepted and highly recommended.

2. HKK

Nearest Stations: Liverpool Street and Moorgate
Address: 88 Worship Street, Broadgate Quarter, London, EC2A 2BE
Opening Hours: Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 14:30, and 18:00 to 21:45. Closed on Sunday.
Phone: 0203 535 1888

With an amazing ambiance, delicious food and impeccable service, HKK may just be the best high-end Chinese food in the city.

A la Carte dishes are priced between £12 and £38, with a tasting menu available for £88 with eight courses. Reservations are accepted.

3. Polo Bar

Nearest Station: Liverpool Street
Address: 176 Bishopsgate, Liverpool Street, London, C2M 4NQ
Opening Hours: Open 24/7
Phone: 0207 283 4889

Whatever time of day you visit, Polo Bar is happy to feed you.

Polo Bar is a café and bar style environment, and serves comfort food in generous portions. Its industrial – yet spotless – interiors show how the area has become gentrified since it first opened in 1959.

Breakfast is served all day and priced at £7 to £10. Lunch and dinner classics are £8.50 to £12, and there is even a budget afternoon tea here for under £10.

4. The Kitchen at Tower

Nearest Station: Tower Hill
Address: Byward Street, All Hallows by the Tower, London, EC3R 5BJ
Opening Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 17:30, Saturday from 9:00 to 17:30, Sundays and bank holidays from 10:00 to 17:30.
Phone: 0207 481 3533

The Kitchen is one of our favourite gems in central London for affordable eats. Located on the grounds of All Hallows by the Tower Church (parts of which date back to 700AD), The Kitchen serves British fare in leafy surroundings, and with friendly service that makes you feel like a local.

The early bird full English breakfast is just £6.50 before 11:00, whereas all-day meals are priced at under £11. You can even build your own mini afternoon tea.
