The British Library is the official national library of the United Kingdom. According to its number of catalogued items, it is regarded as the largest library in the world.
It contains a collection of over 170 million items in many languages from different sources.

The British Library is not just books – it is stocked with documents in digital and print form. They include music recordings, databases, stamps, maps, patents, drawings, magazines and more.

This library even contains historical items and manuscripts dating back to 2000 BC, and the Treasures Gallery exhibition contains gems such as the 800-year-old Magna Carta, an important document that states that everyone should be subject to the law (including royals) and have the right to a fair trial.

The Treasures Gallery exhibition closes at 18:00 on Mondays, and with the building on all other days.
