The Natural History Museum has long been a popular haunt for both Londoners and tourists alike but since most museums were made free in 2001, its popularity soared.
The museum was purpose-built and opened in 1881 moving much of the collection from the British Museum here.

There are a wide variety of permanent exhibitions. Throughout your visit you can mavel at dinosaur skeletons and an animatronic T-Rex, see geological finds, explore the enormous Mammals area, and even walk past scientists working at the museums Darwin Centre.

The museum also offers fascinating temporary exhibitions, which are paid admission, as well as special events such as a ‘Night at the Museum’-style sleepover.
